Through their visionary program, the Hip-Hop Re:Education Project, Say Word Entertainment works to unite
with other
like-minded individuals globally, in the mission of supporting and maintaining authentic Hip Hop
history, culture, and activism. During the post-industrial decline of the South Bronx, Hip Hop’s pioneers
used the Elements (MCing, DJing, beatboxing, breakdancing, and graffiti art) to counteract gang violence
and drug use and build positive life-affirming community. The Hip-Hop Re:Education Project similarly uses
the universal language of Hip Hop to communicate stories of hope and achievement, while modeling
each element as a tool for personal expression and social awareness.
Whether in the studio, on stage or in a classroom, Say Word Entertainment
is dedicated to supporting and documenting Global Hip Hop history and culture
in order to bring about dialogue and understanding, to fight injustice and
oppression through activism and advocacy, and to pave the way for the next
generation of Hip Hop ARTivists.
